  • Overview

    The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the oversight and delivery of the operations of the accounts receivable and claims denial management teams including financial accountability and performance outcomes. Coordinates day-to-day activities for the team members and provides consistent service excellence and quality patient care by following Park Dental’s Mission, Vision, and Values.


    Essential Job Duties:

    • Develop strategic plans and programs for the Revenue Cycle team, ensuring goals and objectives are properly defined and clearly established
    • Manage 20+ team members including full accountability for the hiring, training and onboarding of new team members as needed
    • Direct the work of the accounts receivable team members in timely and accurate payment deposit and application to accounts. Electronic remittance files and payment are received from insurers, public assistance entities, lockbox files, and others
    • Direct the work of the denials management team to oversee claims processing, open and denied claim follow up, medical coding, and provider credentialing. Understand and monitor adherence to applicable insurance fee schedules and expected payor adjustments.
    • Monitor and validate team member performance using a transparent, metric-based system including creation, maintenance, and delivery of performance documents and appraisals, routine review of productivity utilizing applicable reports and systems
    • Identify, document and address performance deficiencies and team relations situations timely and effectively
    • Identify and resolve team issues/obstacles to service excellence through feedback from sources such as: internal departments, patients, senior leadership and reporting
    • Responsible for developing, monitoring and communicating key performance indicators; collaborates with team leads and supervisors to develop and execute action plans
    • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures; identify and implement opportunities to improve operations by leveraging software, systems, processes, and other methods to increase cash flow, maximize team efficiency, and minimize revenue loss
    • Act as the point of contact for all revenue cycle system changes/enhancements and priorities; facilitates decision making, in coordination with appropriate stakeholders
    • Responsible for charge master and fee schedule maintenance and accuracy reviews
    • Develop and manage relationships with various payors and vendors to ensure system maintenance and quickly troubleshoot any interruption to the steady flow of claims, payments, and data.
    • Identify opportunities to accelerate cash collections and minimize preventable revenue loss
    • Prepare analysis and use data as a key driver to plan, organize, manage, and control Revenue Cycle processes
    • Analyze accounts receivable to ensure maximum net revenue realization, stable cash collections, avoidance of denials, and measured reduction in write offs. Develop and execute plans to avoid, reduce, and resolve claim denials and rejections
    • Analyze payer reimbursement to identify deficiencies and mitigate revenue leakage

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize resources, and understand when to collaborate with others
    • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare systems, revenue cycle processes and payer specific reimbursement mechanisms and billing requirements
    • Strong analytical and financial skills
    • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize duties, demonstrating exceptional time-management skills with impeccable attention to detail
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including moderate to expert user of Excel
    • Ability to utilize critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to opportunities
    • Ability to navigate complex situations such as high-level patient service issues, and discussions with external partners and vendors


    Education and Knowledge:

    Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field or related experience

    Minimum 5 years of experience in health care practice administration with a strong focus on billing and revenue cycle activities

    Minimum 5 years of experience of supervisory/management experience

    Work Schedule

    Monday through Friday 8-5
